Via Tender: Query movies by release date range?

Assigned to API Support #939. As reported in Tender:
i would like to get search results by suppling only the release date(s)...
is there a way to get results for ALL movies released within a specified date range ?for example:
Movies released during January 2012...
http://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?api_key=## your key here ##&query=&date_start=2012-01-01&date_end=2012-01-31thanks
