Via Tender: Tweak search with colon's
Reported by Travis Bell | September 4th, 2012 @ 08:14 AM | in Ocean's Twelve (closed)
Assigned to API Support #1120. As reported in Tender:
Just discovered something and I don't know if this is a direct result of the search indexer and popularity bumping or if it should be treated as an issue and fixed. So keeping this discussion public to hopefully get a response from other users as well.
http://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?api_key=###&query=The%20Godfather:%20Part%20II
using this query I would expect 'Part II' to come out on top as there is an exact match with the title, but they all still turn up in order (Part I, Part II, Part III), this seems to be true for all movie titles with roman numerals in the title (not necessarily in order, but mostly with an unexpected title on top).
This leads to extra development client-side to display the results in expected order to users.
