Via Tender: Replace German umlaute like ä ü ö ae ue oe

I searched the discussion for something like that but didnt get a hit, so i start a new discussion.
would it be possible to replace ae ue oe (additionally) on searches wit ü ö ä?
so a search for "Maenner sind Schweine" would also hit 'Männer sind Schweine" ?I think it wouldn't be a big thing to adjust the database querys so it would not 'cost' much time/processor power.
In fact it may reduce the load a little because you don't have to make 2 seperate search querys..Would be nice to here somethin from you!
