Is there anyway I could help move this issue forward? It's not normally that important for most shows, but when you hit one like Firefly then it becomes nearly essential. I'm a software engineer by trade and this is important to a personal project I'm working on so I'd be happy to help.

Hi Jeff,
There isn’t really any way to help. With regards to where I’m at with this feature, I’m still a little ways out. I have some other features I’m working on for the next few months. I don’t have an ETA at this time.

This has been completed on the website, API will get these features in due time.
So what I created here is called "episode groups". These groups can be really anything, absolute, dvd, digital, production order, etc... Some examples:
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1437-firefly (Absolute order)
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/59717-comedians-in-cars-getting-coffee (Digital Netflix order)
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/2098-batman-the-animated-series (DVD order)Take a look next to the "Last Season" block, you'll see a new dropdown.
Before you ask about custom episode air dates, yes this is planned. These groups can be tied to networks (and soon regions), so they can be quite flexible.
